Shri Jesus S M Lall (fondly known as "Sir") has been referred to as "one of Maharashtra’s foremost leaders on education" by his peers.
Mr. Lall leads the Universal Education Group of schools and colleges, a large Maharashtra-based educational network. He leads a community consisting of over 21,000 students and their parents who've entrusted their children's future with his group. Mr. Lall leads a diverse workforce of over 900 co-workers who believe that in educating our people, lies the most credible and sustainable solution to the myriad of problems plaguing India.
Sir believes that education is a personal endeavor of the learner and so our students are treated as individual learners, not as indifferent components of a study group.
A common-man’s leader, Mr. Lall is perhaps best known for bringing much-needed attention to educational reforms. Indeed, improving education has become a cornerstone issue for Mr. Lall. He believes that the strength of our economy relies upon having an educated work force. He has championed efforts to enhance educational opportunities for Mumbai's youth.
Mr. Lall has earned his Masters in Commerce and is currently pursuing a degree in law, both from Mumbai University.
Over 800 children study free of cost in Sir's schools and colleges - 100s others benefit from scholarships. "S. M. Lall Foundation" a professionally run NGO under the leadership of Mr. Lall, is devoted to the social development of the urban poor. Some of the projects for the poor undertaken by the foundation include emergency response services, blood donation drives, educational scholarships, distribution of stationery/study material for children studying in BMC schools.
